Since my childhood, with and around my environment and 'mental' growth, music "made, played as well grew" parallel around me. During the end of '70s my father had purchased a LP (Long Play) with the face and name of a budding hundustani vocal artist at that time called Prabha Atre. Personally I was quite childish. Yet, after my first hearing I was feeling excited though not particularly in its technical aspects. A few days later I hear it again. I was getting a simple yet 'different' feeling. Calm, relaxed and sense of mixed combination of spiritual as well happiness. As I grew, I used to get the opportunity for various festivals and concerts and eagerly waiting to hear more and particularly for that similar raag. That was the time I came to know that it is a particular rendition raag called Maru Bihaad. Years later last year during the end of 2009 I was in Music Academy in Chennai for the live concert of Pandit Channulal Mishra. My past memories were 're-enlightened'. So I decided to compile the collections on raag Maru Bihaad. I have put this together sung by various raagdhaari hindustani vocal singers to share with friends, old and new.
